The WeinbergLim team of experts has been conducting flood insurance studies for FEMA performing thousands of miles of detail and approximate riverine and coastal studies for many counties and hundreds of communities. We offer comprehensive services from initiation of a study all the way to effective which includes:

  • Levee investigation for compliance

  • Development of digital terrain & LiDAR topographic mapping

Preliminary FIS & DFIRM Review and Appeal Process:

Preliminary FIS & DFIRM Review and Appeal Process:

The mapping process can be broken down into four stages: Scoping, Map Production, Preliminary Maps, and Effective Maps. Once engineering and map production has been performed, each community will receive a set of printed preliminary map panels, preliminary Flood Insurance Study (FIS) and a preliminary Summary of Map Actions (SOMA) to review the accuracy and completeness of maps within 30-45 days followed by 90-day appeal period process.
